Housing and milking technology, genetics and dairy cattle breeding are all central elements of this year’s Agromek, and exhibitors representing these sectors of the agricultural industry have high expectations for the exhibition.

The agricultural industry is evolving rapidly, and this is clearly reflected in the country’s dairy production sector, which is constantly developing. According to Carsten Dideriksen, District Sales Manager, BouMatic, automation and efficiency are among the industry’s most important buzzwords.

He explains that BouMatic will be showcasing the new Xcalibur 360EX 2.0 rotary parlour featuring the new GSA preparation robot, as well as the Teatwand Heavy Duty Teat Sprayer, at Agromek. The GSA preparation robot automates pre-washing and cow preparation, while the Teatwand Heavy Duty Teat Sprayer ensures optimal teat spraying and udder hygiene, thereby reducing labour requirements during milking. Carsten Dideriksen notes that BouMatic is also experiencing strong interest in automated rotary parlour solutions, particularly among larger herds, where high capacity and fewer labour hours are becoming increasingly important.

BouMatic will also showcase the latest version of the Gemini UP milking robot, Apollo automation solutions for both existing and new milking parlours, as well as solutions for automated feeding and manure removal, among many other innovations.

Data and digitalisation
Automation and efficiency are also highlighted by Bjarne Damkær Ebbesen, Country Manager, DeLaval Denmark, who identifies data and digitalisation as key factors driving current industry developments.

At Agromek, DeLaval will present a range of solutions for modern milk production, including the VMS™ milking robot, the OptiWagon automatic feed wagon, a rotary milking parlour and solutions for cow comfort. According to Bjarne Damkær Ebbesen, DeLaval will also focus on how service solutions, cattle advisory services and digital tools can support farmers in their work to improve productivity, profitability and food safety, while simultaneously contributing to more efficient farm operations.

Unlocking the full value of the cow
Among companies specialising in dairy cattle genetics and breeding, data and efficiency are recurring themes. This is emphasised by Arno van Herpen, Breeding Advisor, Semex Denmark.

He explains that Semex Denmark will focus on the interaction between genetics, data and new technology at Agromek. Among the solutions on display is myStrategy, which converts herd data and genetic potential into a concrete breeding strategy, and Elevate, which provides insight into the genetic potential of individual animals early in life. According to Arno van Herpen, Semex Denmark will also present its Methane Index for breeding towards methane efficiency, as well as its reproductive division Boviteq, where IVF technology is used to accelerate genetic progress at the highest level.

Pathways for continued development
At Dansk ABS, owner Robert Bruinsma points out that Danish agriculture is facing challenges, but that development offers strong opportunities to maintain its leading position.

At Agromek, Dansk ABS will invite visitors to engage in discussions about cows, bulls, data and the next generation of dairy cattle. Robert Bruinsma also explains that the company’s stand will focus on Dansk ABS’s personalised advisory services and on genetics as a tool for herd development.

Valuable to bring the industry together
According to Sten Andersen, Chairman of Agromek, the many new products and solutions within the dairy cattle sector provide a good illustration of the developments currently shaping agriculture.
