Reliable biomass feeding

Variable feedstocks, long fibres and heavy foreign matter can disrupt the feeding process and increase wear on pumps and other components. The PreMix® solid matter feeder prepares the biomass before it enters the digester, helping to support reliable operation and consistent biogas production.

Four process steps in one compact unit

The PreMix® solid matter feeder combines four process steps in a single unit:

Mixing solid biomass with liquid
Separating heavy foreign matter
Macerating coarse and fibrous materials
Pumping the homogeneous suspension to the digester

Stones and metal parts are separated before they can damage the pump. Long fibres and coarse material are macerated to produce a homogeneous, bacteria-compatible suspension. This protects downstream equipment and creates favourable conditions for the biological process.

Adapts to changing feedstocks

The ACCplus control system automatically adjusts the cutting performance of the RotaCut macerator to suit the biomass being processed. The integrated HiCone progressive cavity pump also contributes to lower energy demand and a longer service life for wear parts.

The automated control system monitors key process parameters and keeps the unit within its optimum operating range – even when the composition and dry matter content of the biomass change.

Efficient removal of heavy matter

The PreMix® solid matter feeder can be equipped with the optional Debris Removal System, DRS, which removes separated heavy matter during operation. The process discharges only around 15 litres of medium and can reduce the work involved by up to 80 per cent.

The Debris Lift Unit, DLU, can then transfer the separated material automatically to a collection container, reducing the need for manual handling and monitoring.

The PreMix® RCX-58G solid matter feeder is the compact model for handling varied feedstocks in typical biogas plants. The PreMix® RCX-68G solid matter feeder is designed for larger plants and processes requiring high throughput rates.
