Linka® straw handling system for biogas production with a capacity of up to 4 tonnes of straw per hour.

Nature Energy Kværs produces biogas from agricultural biomass. As part of the plant, Linka Energy has supplied a complete solution for the automatic handling and pre-treatment of straw, enabling the straw to be efficiently used as feedstock for biogas production.

The straw handling process starts with the automatic feeding of straw bales by means of a fully automatic straw crane and conveyor system. The strings are then automatically removed before the bales are shredded. A stone trap separates stones, metal and other foreign objects before the straw is conveyed to the subsequent milling process.

The straw is then processed in a pre-mill and hammer mill to achieve the required particle size and is pre-treated before being fed into the biogas process. The complete system is automatically monitored and controlled, with focus on reliable operation, high capacity and efficient straw handling.

The solution is designed for industrial biogas production and enables continuous handling of large quantities of straw with minimal manual handling.
