2 × 5 MW Linka® multifuel biomass plants for straw and wood chips, supplying process heat to the biogas plant.
Vinkel Bioenergi is one of Denmark's largest biogas plants and is designed to handle approximately 400,000 tonnes of biomass annually. Linka Energy supplied two 5 MW multifuel biomass plants to replace the existing natural gas-fired boilers.
The two Linka® HPHW boilers can operate on both straw and wood chips, providing a high degree of fuel flexibility. Straw can be sourced from the same farms supplying feedstock for the biogas production, while wood chips can be used as an alternative fuel.
The plant comprises two separate boiler lines that can operate independently. This provides a high level of security of heat supply to the biogas process, including when one line is taken out of operation for servicing.
The solution includes fuel handling for straw and wood chips, Linka® combustion technology, economisers, flue gas cleaning, ash handling and PLC-based control and monitoring.
