At Fårtoft Genetik, solar panels have been installed on the roof area. Fårtoft Genetik achieves a self-consumption rate of 82% of the electricity produced, and the system saves the farm approximately 20 tons of CO2 annually. Going forward, 1 kWh costs 15 øre (0.15 DKK) for Fårtoft Genetik.
Fårtoft Genetik has made a significant decision for both its farm and the surrounding environment. By investing in a complete solar power system, Fårtoft Genetik has taken a step towards sustainable and greener operations, serving as an inspiration to farmers throughout Denmark.
The 130 kWp solar power system has been installed on the farm's buildings and is tailored to meet the customer's needs. By utilizing solar energy for electricity production, Fårtoft Genetik not only reduces its operating costs but also contributes to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
According to calculations by ECNergy, the solar power system will achieve an annual CO2 savings of over 20 tons. This reduction underscores Fårtoft Genetik's commitment to environmental conservation and creating a more sustainable future for the next generation.
With solar energy integrated into their operations, Fårtoft Genetik continues to demonstrate that the agricultural sector can play an active role in combating climate change. At the same time, they are reaping economic benefits and ensuring a more stable and sustainable farm operation.
