The Nilsson family runs the farm Karlsborggård south of Kalmar. For many years, the farm has been run as an arable and forestry farm. In the past, there has been a small pig production on the farm. In connection with the stable building, the family is undergoing a generational change

Barn design - barn concept
With the construction of the new Agrifarm Konceptstald from Agrifarm A/S, the family gets a state-of-the-art stable system where better animal welfare and the working environment are the focus. The desire to reduce environmental impact is the reason why the family supplemented the stable system with the Agri AirClean air cleaning system.
The stable is approx. 6,500 m2, approx. 55 x 114 m. There is also a service department with staff facilities and conference rooms.

18,000 free-range pigs
The stable project has 4,900 stalls, with an annual production of approx. 18,000 pigs for slaughter.
The pigs run freely in large pens with 350 pigs per section in the 14-section barn. The Pig Sort weighing system from Domino A/S ensures full control over the herd of pigs, so that feeding is optimal and that sorting for slaughter takes place at the correct weight. The system is labor-saving.

Inventory and feed/feed production
They are fed with dry food. With the phase feeding system from Weda, the Nilsson family has the best opportunities to feed optimally in relation to the size and needs of the pigs. Weda also supplies fixtures and showering/soaking.
All feed is produced at Karlsborg. It requires many front silos for grain and various raw materials. All equipment in the feed barn for feed production is supplied by Neuero.

Raw house
Concrete work, steel construction and roof work were carried out by MG bygg. Earthworks were carried out by Dan Gustavsson AB.
The client himself has been responsible for contracts with the laying of slurry pipes and the installation of slits.

Electrical and plumbing contractor
In modern stable construction, the electrical and plumbing contract is extensive, and the client has chosen Möre El to carry out the electrical work. The barn has 2 heating systems – underfloor heating and room heating. The barn is equipped with slurry cooling, which supplies the barn with the necessary heat via a heat pump. Plumbing work is carried out by Kalmar VVS & El montage AB.

Ventilation and air purification
The barn is ventilated with Hybrid ventilation from Agrifarm A/S. Hybrid ventilation combines natural ventilation and a floor extractor as well as high-pressure cooling. The ventilation solution significantly reduces energy consumption, and at the same time a unique barn climate is achieved with less ammonia, odor and dust, benefiting animal welfare and the working environment. The stable's floor extraction collects most of the free ammonia when it evaporates from the manure surface. The collected emission is fed via ducts under the floor to the air cleaning system Agri AirClean, which cleans away the ammonia with high efficiency.

The slurry system is climate-friendly
The barn's manure system, AgriManure, sluices the manure out automatically. When the pre-tank is empty, the slurry discharge is activated, and the individual sections stand in a queue and are in turn discharged automatically to the pre-tank. Pig producers save time and avoid heavy lifting of slurry plugs.
AgriManure significantly minimizes the emission of the dangerous greenhouse gas methane. This makes the barn concept a climate-friendly barn system.

Grain storage and transport facilities
3 new grain silos for storing and drying grain for feed production and a transport system for transporting raw material to the barn's mill plant have been delivered to Mondus Maskin AB.
