SmartFarming Feed Table automatically monitors, around the clock, how much feed is available on the feed table and when it becomes empty, using the barn’s existing cameras. The measurements are combined with data from the feed mixer wagon into a single digital feed account and transferred via an open API to the farmer’s feeding management system. This enables the farmer to know exactly what feed was actually available to the cows and to adjust the next ration based on data rather than estimates. The result is reduced leftover feed and fewer hours with an empty feed table.

Traditionally, monitoring feed refusals has required manual inspection, and any adjustments to the following day’s ration have had to be communicated and/or entered manually into the feeding management system. Viking SmartFarming Feed Table automatically measures the amount of feed available on the feed table using Viking’s cameras installed in the barn. These measurements are combined with data from the feed mixer wagon to create a single digital feed account, from which adjustments can be made to subsequent rations. The result is reduced feed waste and fewer hours with an empty feed table.
