Skovmek, new type of felling grapple for crane mounting from Uniforest

Product description:
The Uniforest RK250K is a new type of hydraulic felling grapple with a movable blade that actively cuts through the tree stem and fells the tree. The blade can be locked, as can the grapple’s tilt function, allowing the grapple to be used for loading operations as well. The RK250K can be crane-mounted on machines such as forwarders and forestry trailers, enabling multiple tasks to be carried out with the same machine. The felling grapple stands out by being a crane-mounted blade grapple, whereas crane-mounted saw grapples have traditionally been the preferred solution.
Expert description:
During felling, the RK250K grips the tree stem while the hydraulically powered blade moves through the stem from the outside towards the grapple arm. The felling process is therefore carried out actively by the moving blade, rather than by the grapple arms forcing the stem against a fixed blade.
