BESTFARM, in collaboration with JYGA, has developed a new feeding system for gilts. We have developed a management programme and integrated an activator into the feed trough, enabling activation of each individual gilt and thereby allowing 100% individual feeding.

Expert description: 
The system enables each gilt to be fed precisely according to its individual requirements throughout the entire rearing period. By allowing two feed mixtures to be combined, feeding can be continuously adjusted, providing improved opportunities to optimise growth and body condition in each animal. At the same time, the system offers a clear overview of feed intake and activity levels among the gilts. The solution is expected to contribute to greater uniformity of gilts at first rearing, thereby creating a stronger foundation for subsequent reproductive performance. The user-friendly interface and focus on easy gilt training further support practical implementation within the herd.
