Väderstad Tempo II increases sowing precision

A new-generation row unit with electronic adjustment of sowing depth and closing wheel pressure is awarded a three-star Danish News at Agromek Stars.
Semler Agro A/S presents the Väderstad Tempo II, a new-generation row unit that enables sowing depth and closing wheel pressure to be adjusted directly from the cab. Adjustments can be made while driving, allowing settings to be adapted continuously to current field conditions.
Sowing depth and closing wheel pressure are controlled by electric motors on the individual row units. This enables the operator to make ongoing adjustments without interrupting work. At the same time, sowing depth can be controlled using a prescription map, allowing the machine to automatically adapt depth settings to field variability.
Tempo II also enables plant population rates to be adjusted at individual row level. A separate prescription file can control the seed rate independently for each row unit, providing opportunities for more detailed optimisation of crop establishment.
Three-star Danish News
Agromek’s judging panel has awarded Tempo II three stars and classified the solution as a Danish News. In its final assessment, the panel highlighted the electronic adjustment of sowing depth and closing wheel pressure, as well as the ability to control sowing depth and plant population using prescription maps for every individual row.
“The Tempo II row unit features electronic adjustment of sowing depth and closing wheel pressure from the cab, including while driving. Through GPS and the ISOBUS Task Controller, sowing depth and plant population can be managed using prescription maps for each row. Together with revised disc angles and a narrower seed furrow, this provides more precise and consistent seed placement.”
Tempo II has been developed with a focus on making sowing more precise and flexible by combining electronic row-unit control with data from prescription maps. This enables the machine to adapt to field variability while work is being carried out.
