New integrated coulter knife delivers greater plough stability

Farmimplement presents a new coulter knife for Ovlac and Kverneland ploughs, which is awarded a two-star Agromek News.
At Agromek 2026, Farmimplement ApS presents a new integrated coulter knife for Ovlac and Kverneland ploughs. The solution has been developed with a focus on simpler and more stable mounting, with the coulter knife passing directly through a specially adapted mouldboard shin.
The coulter knife is mounted on the outside of the landside or landside point, while the mouldboard shin supports the knife and limits the risk of it bending backwards when striking stones. At the same time, the knife is positioned ahead of the share, allowing the soil to be cut as early as possible in the working process.
The new design is symmetrical and can therefore be used on both the right- and left-hand sides of the plough. The bolt holes are countersunk from both sides, making the knife reversible. According to the manufacturer, this means that the same spare part can be used on either side of the plough.
Compared with traditional landside-mounted coulter knives, the design is more closely aligned with the landside, while the adapted mouldboard shin provides additional support. The coulter knife is 10 mm thick and has been developed as a relatively simple design with a focus on robustness and competitive pricing.
Agromek’s judging panel has awarded the innovation two stars. In its final assessment, the panel particularly highlighted the integrated design, resistance to rearward bending and the possibility of using the same knife on both sides:
“The integrated coulter knife is awarded two stars for a new design in which a well-known function has been incorporated into the plough body. Its position close to the landside provides a more stable plough body, while the 10 mm thick symmetrical knife can be used on both the right- and left-hand sides. This improves operational reliability and simplifies the handling of wear parts.”
