JCB Fastrac 6000 series gains integrated Twin Steer and tyre pressure control

A new tractor series combines two GNSS receivers, independent steering of the front and rear axles, and integrated tyre pressure control, and is recognised as a two-star Agromek innovation.

Brøns Group presents the new JCB Fastrac 6000 series, comprising the 6260 and 6300 models with outputs of 290 hp and 335 hp respectively. The series builds on the Fastrac concept with suspended front and rear axles, 50:50 weight distribution, four-wheel steering and a centrally mounted cab.

When ordered with JCB GPS, the tractor is supplied with two NovAtel receivers integrated into the roof. The dual receivers enable the tractor’s heading to be determined even when stationary, and the system can control the rear axle independently of the front axle. This provides faster line acquisition on side slopes and enables dog walk operation, where the axles travel offset from one another.

The new series is also available with fully integrated tyre pressure control through the axles and final drives. The system is operated via the tractor’s display and can adjust tyre pressures while driving. According to the product description, tyre pressure can be reduced at speeds of up to 30 km/h and increased at speeds up to full road speed.

The JCB Fastrac 6000 is built on a full-length chassis and features hydraulic suspension, ABS-equipped disc brakes on all four wheels, a ZF Eccom 3.1 CVT transmission and hydraulic output of up to 410 l/min as an option.

The Agromek judging panel has awarded the JCB Fastrac 6000 series two stars. In its final assessment, the panel particularly highlights the combination of the integrated GNSS system with two NovAtel receivers, Twin Steer and the integrated tyre pressure control system.

“JCB Fastrac 6000 introduces an integrated GNSS system with two NovAtel receivers and Twin Steer, allowing the front and rear axles to be steered independently. This provides rapid line acquisition, stable guidance on rolling terrain and dog walk functionality, where the axles can operate offset from one another. On side slopes, the axles can be adjusted individually to keep the implement in line. Combined with the full suspension system and integrated tyre pressure control, this enhances precision, comfort and capacity,” the judging panel stated.

The series also features a start/stop button that allows the engine to be switched off without disconnecting the ignition. This enables systems such as ISOBUS and GPS to remain active while the engine is stopped.
