Duo-Glide plough point combines soil penetration, strength and lower draft requirements

Arrow-shaped and symmetrical plough point with recessed tungsten carbide reinforcement is awarded a two-star Agromek News.
JI – Farmimplement ApS presents Duo-Glide, an arrow-shaped plough point developed with a focus on soil penetration, strength and reduced draft requirements. The point features recessed tungsten carbide reinforcements and is designed for use on both the right- and left-hand sides of the plough.
According to the manufacturer, the arrow-shaped geometry improves the plough’s ability to penetrate and maintain its working position in the soil. At the same time, the front carbide wear plate has been made stronger than on traditional tungsten-reinforced points, while the flat front profile has been developed to provide greater durability when encountering stones.
The Duo-Glide point is also slimmer than the previous tungsten point. The recessed carbide reinforcements create a smoother profile which, according to the manufacturer, reduces soil build-up behind the point and lowers draft requirements. The point is compatible with Ovlac and Kverneland shares.
Agromek’s judging panel has awarded Duo-Glide two stars. In its final assessment, the panel highlighted the combination of the arrow-shaped, symmetrical geometry and the recessed carbide reinforcements, which are designed to improve both operational reliability and the handling of wear parts.
“The slimmer profile reduces draft requirements and decreases soil build-up behind the point. The result is lower fuel consumption, improved operational reliability and simpler handling of wear parts,” the judging panel stated.
