Danfoil Automates Sprayer Injection System Calibration

15/10/2026

New injection system combines automatic calibration, flow monitoring and direct injection, and has been awarded a three-star Europe News at Agromek.

Danfoil will present a new self-calibrating injection system for field sprayers at Agromek 2026. Integrated into the ConCorde platform, the system is designed to improve dosing accuracy and operational reliability by automating calibration and continuously monitoring flow rates from the injection pumps.

Instead of pre-mixing the total volume of crop protection products in the main tank, the system injects active ingredients directly into the water stream immediately before application. This enables individual dosing of each product and makes the solution particularly suitable for precision spraying, where dosing requirements may change continuously, for example during camera-based spot spraying.

The new automatic calibration function takes over a process that previously required manual calibration by the operator. At the same time, four flow meters continuously monitor the injection pumps, enabling the system to detect immediately if a pump is not delivering the required flow rate. This allows deviations to be identified instantly while reducing the risk of dosing errors.

The automation also paves the way for future integration with a Closed Transfer System (CTS). In this setup, crop protection products can be transferred directly from the container to the injection pump without manual handling during calibration. According to Danfoil, this can significantly reduce operator exposure while supporting more flexible use of crop protection products in precision spraying applications.

Three-Star Europe News

Agromek’s judging panel has awarded the innovation three stars. In its final assessment, the panel particularly highlighted the combination of automatic calibration, flow monitoring and improved operational reliability:

“Danfoil’s latest update to its injection system combines automatic calibration with advanced flow monitoring. The system uses four flow meters, enabling precise dosing and continuous monitoring of the injection pumps. Any deviations are detected immediately, ensuring a high level of precision and operational reliability.”

The judging panel also emphasised that the automated calibration process reduces the risk of dosing errors and can lower operator exposure to chemicals. The solution is therefore considered well aligned with future requirements for precision farming and reduced use of crop protection products.
