CultiWise makes drone mapping three times faster

New app automates flight planning, camera settings and data transfer for spot spraying and is awarded a two-star Agromek News.

At Agromek 2026, Brøns Group will present a new CultiWise app for drone controllers designed to make field mapping for spot spraying both faster and simpler. The solution reduces the need for overlap between drone images while bringing flight planning, camera settings and data management together in a single app.

CultiWise has reduced image overlap from 75% to 15%. According to the submitted documentation, this means that a field that previously took around one hour to map can now be mapped in approximately 20 minutes. At the same time, the amount of data generated is reduced to around one-third, making uploads significantly faster.

In the new app, the user selects the field, crop, map type and the minimum weed size to be detected. The app then automatically generates the flight path, flight altitude and camera settings. After the flight, images are transferred wirelessly to the controller, which can automatically upload them to CultiWise when connected to a recognised Wi-Fi network. This eliminates the need for manual handling of SD cards.

The solution has been developed to make drone-based spot-spraying maps easier to integrate into day-to-day farm operations. According to the exhibitor, a map can be flown in the morning and be ready for spraying in the afternoon. CultiWise also highlights that spot spraying can significantly reduce pesticide use in suitable applications.

Agromek’s judging panel has awarded the innovation two stars. In its final assessment, the panel particularly highlighted the shorter flight time, the reduced volume of data and the simplified workflow:

“The reduced overlap results in significantly fewer images and therefore a data volume of only around one-third of previous levels. At the same time, the controller app eliminates the PC-based workflow, as route planning, camera settings and data management are all combined in one place.”

The new CultiWise app will be presented at Agromek 2026 by Brøns Group at stand E4200.
