Product description:

The new heat stress alarm in DMS alerts you six days before your cows are at risk of heat stress. The alarm is for the local area and is based on the THI index, which combines temperature and humidity. In addition to early warning, you also gain insight into how THI has affected production in your own herd. This allows you to make well-informed decisions about preventive measures that benefit both production and animal welfare.

Expert description:

A new heat stress alarm in DMS provides users with a warning 6 days in advance if the cows are at risk of heat stress. This risk occurs when the THI index exceeds 68. The THI index combines temperature and humidity, with forecast data obtained from DMI and updated several times daily. Denmark is divided into 5x5 km coordinates to ensure that weather data is very localized.

In addition to a 6-day forecast, an interactive Power BI analysis retrieves 2 years of weather data from DMI and shows the relationship between THI (temperature/humidity) and various key figures (tank cell counts, fat percentage, and milk production) within the user's own herd. This allows the farmer to be well-informed about historical results and the consequences of heat stress in their own herd, providing a basis for making decisions to implement preventive measures. Last but not least, farmers receive concise and specific recommendations on how to prevent heat stress.
