30 November 2016
On Tuesday, Skov A/S was presented with one of the two Agromek Awards 2016 for New Product exhibits within the Livestock Housing Mechanization section.
The Award was won by ProGrow – a new integrated system that applies cameras which are installed over one or more pens in a pig housing unit for the monitoring of porker growth rates.
The Award Committee placed great importance on the fact that this new system provides the farmer with a unique opportunity to coordinate daily growth rates. Fluctuations arising from feed changes or initial signs of health problems are quickly identified and can therefore be rectified before attaining severe economic consequences.
The Committee also noted that the amount of data from the 500 – 1,000 daily weighing recordings is connected to Cloudfarm where the production data can be compiled.
ProGrow was one of two winners of Agromek Awards within the Livestock Housing Mechanization section. There were initially nominated six New Product exhibits within this section.
The winning exhibit was selected on Monday. A Committee of farmers and other users based its decision on which exhibit will have the greatest practical importance.
