Expert description:

A bolus for detecting rumination and measuring pH levels in the stomach for smaller ruminants, such as calves, sheep, goats, and deer. The bolus is significantly smaller than other similar products on the market, making it suitable for smaller ruminants and calves. 

In addition to its well-known application for measuring rumination, the bolus also measures the pH in the rumen. This can provide an indication of rumen function and how well the animals are responding to the feed provided.
