New System Improving Feed Grinding Precision and Animal Welfare Awarded Two Stars at Agromek
Vestjyllands Andel unveils their latest innovation, VA SizeMatters, a sifting machine designed for feed production specifically for home mixers. The system analyzes the feed structure during production and allows for sample collection as often as desired to ensure optimal feed utilization. The grinding process is divided into four parts: <1 mm, 1-2 mm, 2-3 mm, and >3 mm, which are weighed and converted to percentages. These data can be viewed on a screen, and the mills can be directly connected to the system for automatic grinding control.
The Agromek judges' panel assesses that VA SizeMatters contributes significantly to both sustainability and animal welfare. It ensures that the particle size in the feed is maintained at a level that avoids gastric changes in pigs and sows. The device is recognized for its ability to ensure consistent feed particle size from batch to batch, regardless of the grain used by the feed company. This precision control allows farmers to achieve greater efficiency in their feed production. The Agromek judges' panel awards the innovation two stars.
According to the manufacturer, VA SizeMatters is a tool that both improves feed quality and optimizes animal welfare by ensuring grinding levels are consistent, reducing the risk of gastric ulcers and promoting animal health.
