SmartHeat, providing precise control of heat supply and enhancing animal welfare, has been awarded two stars at Agromek.
Skov A/S introduces SmartHeat, an intelligent heating management system designed to optimize the barn climate for pig and poultry producers. With SmartHeat, farmers can now monitor and adjust heat supply at both barn and section levels, ensuring the best climate for animals while optimizing operational costs.
SmartHeat is a heating unit combined with a flow meter and a software update for the barn computer. The system enables precise monitoring of supply and return temperatures as well as water flow. This allows for quick diagnosis of heating issues and optimization of heat consumption in the barn, explains the Agromek judges' panel, awarding the innovation two stars.
SmartHeat stands out by being able to record heat consumption in kilowatts (kW) and kilowatt-hours (kWh), allowing farmers to analyze heating strategies and their economic implications. Additionally, the system can quickly alert to irregularities such as low water flow or low supply temperatures, providing a rapid response capability to ensure a stable climate for the animals.
SmartHeat also facilitates ESG reporting with precise energy consumption data, helping farmers meet environmental and climate requirements. The system is designed to create optimal conditions for animals in barns while optimizing heat consumption and reducing operational costs.
