SEGES Innovation Introduces New Precise Soil Maps in CropManager
21/10/2024
Precision soil classification tool improves agricultural allocation maps and is awarded as a two-star innovation at Agromek.
SEGES Innovation P/S presents the new precise soil maps in CropManager, offering farmers a better foundation for classifying soil and creating allocation maps. The new maps ensure high precision with a 10x10 meter resolution and include soil type classification, clay percentage, humus content, and Dexter ratio. These maps enable farmers to optimize their cultivation practices without the need for expensive soil analyses.
With the new map layers in CropManager, farmers can access data that was previously only available through soil sampling. The soil map can serve as a validation for the biomass map and provides a solid basis for creating allocation maps for seeds and more, notes the Agromek judges' panel, awarding the innovation two stars.
The new soil maps allow farmers to achieve accurate classification of their soils, aiding in the creation of precise allocation maps for fertilizers and seeds, and improving the assessment of their fields' health.
The new maps in CropManager were developed in collaboration with Aarhus University, the University of Copenhagen, and DHI, offering unparalleled precision in the market.
