Satellite photographs of the bio mass from the individual field can be applied to calculate the final nitrogen fertilizer requirement in winter wheat. This is an important economy perspective.

Via satellite photographs of the bio mass in the individual field, the farmer can evaluate nitrogen requirements prior to the final fertilizing of winter wheat.

In addition to considerations regarding the bio mass, it is now possible to consider the actual crop and fertilizer prices in relation to the anticipated yields from the fields.

The new dynamic fertilizing plan in Crop Manager provides this new information.

This dynamic fertilizer plan has been approved as a Three Star, New in Europe exhibit at Agromek 2022 and will be presented by Seges Innovation P/S.

The possibility of being able to calculate the fertilizer requirement on the basis of the bio mass, plus crop and fertilizer prices and crop yields, reduces the risk of providing too little or too much fertilizer nitrogen.

The Agromek Evaluation Committee points out that the application of bio mass evaluation, from satellite photographs, to calculate nitrogen requirements in the fields during the growth season, is a completely new principle in agricultural decision support systems. The farmer obtains a real time photograph of the field’s residual status prior to spreading the final fertilizer. This represents a significant improvement of the farm economy and reduces environmental risks and climate loads.
