Lely Nordic Launches Juno Max: A New Innovation in Feed Pushing

21/10/2024

Self-driving feed pusher with advanced navigation system and safety technology has been awarded two stars at Agromek.

Lely Nordic A/S introduces Juno Max, a new self-driving feed pusher designed for large farms. Juno Max can quickly, smartly, and efficiently push feed into multiple barns and feeding alleys, enabling it to automatically navigate both indoors and outdoors on the farm.

Juno Max utilizes a newly designed navigation system incorporating LiDAR laser scanning, odometry, and virtual maps of the farm, ensuring that the robot can always plan the optimal route and navigate around obstacles. This capability allows the robot to perform its tasks efficiently and safely, even on slopes of up to 20 percent.

Juno Max is an automatic feed pusher with a high capacity for use in large cattle herds of up to 800-1000 cows. The robot can navigate between multiple barns and handle uneven terrain and slopes, all while maintaining safety through laser scanning and cameras. The system can also assess the feed volume and identify the need for additional feed pushing using its built-in multifunctional stereo camera and laser, states the Agromek judges' panel, awarding the innovation two stars.

According to Lely Nordic, Juno Max is the first fully self-driving feed pusher that combines safety, high capacity, and user-friendliness. It can be controlled via an app and a digital management system, making it easy for farmers to customize the robot to the specific needs of their farm.
