MSR Plant Technology presents a three star New in Europe exhibit for potato farmers at Agromek 2022
This new unit for the Crown Crusher facilitates operation in all types of potato stems including laid or tangled tops.
The Danish company, MSR Plant Technology, has developed a unit which simplifies the mechanical growth stop of potato tops.
This is a newly developed unit for the Crown Crusher implement that can lift and separate potato stems so that all green tops can be crushed including tops that are laid or tangled.
This Lift and Separation unit for the Crown Crusher implement has been classified as a three star New in Europe exhibit at Agromek 2022 where it will be presented by the manufacturer – MSR Plant Technology.
Danish potato growers had a great desire to replace the application of chemicals for growth stop with an alternative method.
The Agromek New Product Committee has stated: “This new unit makes it possible to apply mechanical growth stop in potatoes with laid or tangled tops, for example, potato types with hanging stems or stems which have been laid down due to rain, machine tracks, soil coverage, etc. This means that mechanical growth stop can be effectuated in all types of potatoes under the right conditions and simultaneously minimizes the risk of disease.”
The manufacturer states that the Crown Crusher with this lift and separation unit can, in the majority of cases, ensure effective growth stop with only a single field operation. This greatly minimizes the risk of potato damage in the ridges and subsequent harvest loss.
